BOA® on ski boots? Yep, you read that right. It’s the biggest advancement in skiing, let alone boot fitting in sixty years. You’ve seen this feature on snowboard boots, bike shoes, and even running shoes, so it’s about time we put our heads together with the minds at BOA® Fit System to bring something new to skiing, with a laser focus on performance.

FLEX: 7/10

LAST: MultiFit™️ last, ranging from 97mm -104mm. Fitting a wide range of feet right out of the box and eliminating the need for both a “Low Volume” and “Mid Volume” fit.

SKIER TYPE: Advanced / Expert

LINER

There’s so much tech inside the Recon 120, it’s hard to know where to start. A heat-moldable liner provides the perfect balance between comfort and support. K2 have integrated internal and external J-Bars to ensure proper heel hold and made the toebox seamless, making the fitting process smooth as silk.

Precisionfit Pro Liner – Pre-molded and lasted with Ultralon heat-moldable foam. Featuring an asymmetric tongue, pre-molded ankle pockets, and a high-density power collar for a firm-but-comfortable performance fit

SHELL

Say goodbye to all your boot-fitting woes, with the new Recon 120 BOA® . Its redesigned shell delivers a better “wrap,” and a more even pressure distribution across the foot. Gone are traditional pain hotspots caused by overtightened buckles, the Recon 120 BOA® boots are outfitted with a micro-adjustable fit, even pressure distribution and an unmatched heel hold.

PowerLite Shell – The shell is purpose-built to result in the best skiing, lightest weight boots ever produced. Made with four different stiffnesses of TPU and optimized wall thickness profiling, the Powerlite Shell achieves a paradoxical balance of lightweight agility and power. The resulting boots weigh in as some of the lightest alpine and freeride on the market, yet they ski with all the power and drive of heavier boots.

PowerFuse SpYne – A rear co-injected “Y” shaped design that adds strength and power to the Energy Interlock, the PowerFuse SpYne maximizes fore/aft flex efficiency and lateral stiffness for sustained performance and responsiveness in all terrain. Because of the SpYne, K2 is able to optimize materials in the cuff and shell, eliminating excessive vibrations in rough terrain.

Shell and Cuff – TPU (Thermoplastic Urethane)

Fully Heat Moldable – Both the boot's shell and cuff are capable of being heat molded to a variety of foot shapes for a truly custom fit.

BUCKLES

BOA® Fit System – The BOA® Fit System provides a performance fit engineered to enhance feel and responsiveness while reducing pressure points by incrementally modulating the Alpine boot closure with precise micro-adjustments.

H+i1 DIAL – Provides micro-adjustable, precision fit and quick release, with quality and durability guaranteed. The BOA dial platform features a breakaway design engineered to eject the dial cartridge upon severe impact without damaging the system, allowing skiers to pop the dial back into the bayonet midmountain. In the unlikely event that the system is broken, it can be easily repaired and replaced.

SS3 Lace – Built to withstand skiing the toughest terrain, season after season. Made of stainless steel, SS3 is BOA's strongest, most durable lace, boasting a tensile strength of more than 254 kg

Rivet Guides – Heavy-duty guides for low friction tightening and loosening

POWER STRAP

Non-Elastic Cam Strap

SOLE

GripWalk ISO 23223 Outsoles – Removable and interchangeable rockered soles designed to work with GripWalk binding systems for better grip and comfort while walking, standing, and hiking.

Building on the success of bootboard technology, K2 have added customizable heel inserts to be able to fine-tune the feel. The boot board inside the Recon 120 BOA® comes with a rigid and responsive heel insert, and this boot also ships with a softer, damper, Harshmellow™️ insert for more impact absorption.
